I am regularly annoyed by other people's incorrect use of words, but I don't want to become a word tyrant because I know others who do it and it is really annoying. Also, I am not terribly well educated in the grammar department myself, so I am not 100% confident that what I think is really correct. Regardless, here are some of the ones that annoy me:
  • "I could care less" (instead of "I couldn't care less")
  • "usage" when "use" should be used (nice sentence)

Hmmm. They aren't coming to me in abundance. I'm gonna add to this more later. ;-)

I'm declaring war on a couple myself:

1. It's, "Let's flesh this out later" not Flush.
2. We say we are going to cover a migration case when a user goes from one pc to another. Migratory birds fly south in the winter. They come back in the summer. You are never going back to that old laptop.
3. More or less granular. Granular is a boolean. Is or isn't. Not more or less. If one has to specify then there is fine and coarse. Not less granular.

phew I feel better.

I am also amazed how often people write sentaces with verb disagreement or plurality disagreement. For example, "I have a questions". Another one is weird article usage such as "In the time there will be ...".

I think all of these ones are lack of attention to detail more than they are incorrect use of the words. What I mean by that is that the people would probably know it was wrong if they noticed it was there. They just don't proof-read.
