last night after we signed the contract I went to get the checkbook to write the down payment check. Hmm, it wasn't where it is supposed to be. So I searched. And I searched more. I found checkbooks for 4 of my 5 checking-enabled accounts, but not the one I needed. The checkbook is probably somewhere but I have no idea if I will ever find it. I think it's been at least a year since I used it. I was very embarrased but Marcos was totally nice about it and I promised to mail him a check today.

So I went to the bank at lunchtime today and got a cashier's check which I mailed to him. I also ordered a new box of checks. After that I drove by Acapulco fresh and treated myself to my favorite soft-shelled tostada.
