The is my driver's side door lock, or rather the lack thereof. Sadly this is an improvement. Originally the lock was here but broken so the door wouldn't lock, even when initiated from the other side of the car. However, the lock cylinder has now fallen down inside the door, which allows the door to lock when initiated through other means. Unfortunately I have to unlock the door from the passenger. One step at a time I suppose.
