Friday we bought the carpet remnant we had selected from Great Floors (aka Carpet Exchange). We were going to have them install it but they started adding extra fees and selling us the "good padding" so it was really adding up. So I looked in my saved emails and found the recommendation for a carpet installer (Tyson Scott). He charged the same minimum price but with no extra fees and he was willing to throw in a medium-good pad for free. And he agreed to come Saturday morning and install the carpet. He did just that and now the carpet is installed and looks great.
