Multi-tasking sucks me in
I've been realizing (over and over) recently how much I suck at focusing on one thing at a time and how it is probably affecting my ability to be engaged, creative, passionate, and spontaneous. I think this article by Scott Berkun, and the discussion of the article, do a great job at addressing this topic. Why do I want so badly not to give up this multi-tasking behavior that I love and to which I am completely addicted, even while I know I should and that it would likely make my life better? The idea makes me tired. I think I'll go to bed early, which is both an effective avoidance tactic as well as a single-focus activity. ;-) ScottBerkun.com: Attention and sex

hmmm....I recommend buddhism...vipassana, in particular...there's a retreat center in Washingon state...lucky you! Dabbling in meditation i fine and all, but if you really want focus...the 10-day retreat is the way to start...seriously. But then again, maybe you enjoy defocus...I do sometimes...oh yeah, I tried to start a blog...but it was more complicated that I thought, well, at the site that seemed like a nice one....does one have to write positioning information for a blog, or are there intuitive ones? Seems like it should be easy? I only have a pseudoblog where I collect personality test results ;)
Nice photo from halloween, you look nice in red.
So how's the weather in the Emerrald City? Have you noticed that the air is never EVER still there? EVER.

I choose Unitarian Universalism as my religion of choice, but I suppose I could partake of only the meditation part. I've done guided meditation before, but my attempts at unguided meditation have been half-hearted at best. Unfortunately I do like being unfocused, but that doesn't make it good for me. ;-)
I am not sure what you mean about positioning information. I think they usually prompt you for an optional description. Said description can help orient those who discover your site through a search engine or other random route. That's true of any website, not just blogs.
Sorry you had trouble getting set up. I believe that using Blogger through Blogspot is easy, though there are possibly "nicer" blog systems out there.
The weather here varies. Lately it's sunny and cold during the day, and DST dictates it is now pitch black very early. We're settling in for the long, dark time.
