Microsoft Corporation
Product designer, Windows Mobile PC Group / 2003-present
User interface, interaction, and user experience design for Windows Vista. Focus on features and experience improvements for mobile computers including laptops, Tablet PCs and ultra mobile PCs. Areas of ownership include the new Windows SideShow platform, mobile-optimized graphics themes, user experience guidelines, Media Center experience on touch and pen systems, and peer-to-peer networking. Extensive work with inductive user interface design.

Product designer, Tablet PC Group / 2002-2003
Work in partnership with an eight-person design team on Windows Vista for the Tablet PC. Areas of focus include software-hardware interaction, optimizing Windows for use with the pen as a pointing device, use of gestures to perform actions, and ink annotation of text documents and web pages.

Product designer, Hardware Group / 2000–2002
Collaborate with usability, user assistance, industrial design, and project management on various projects including TV Photo Viewer, SideWinder Game Voice, and several conceptual projects. Primary user interface designer for the Broadband Networking product line released in Fall 2002. Design for various mediums including software, television onscreen navigation, and the Internet. Art direct multiple off-site vendors and manage one on-site product designer.

Collaborate with art directors, developers, and production artists to design web sites for Fortune 1000 companies including Swedish Medical Center and Unionbay. Oversee internal creative processes and resources.

Design history database & web site independent study / 1998–2000
Work with design professor Douglas Wadden to create a database and linked web site to communicate course content to students. Manage project from conception to completion, including design of information architecture and graphic interface. Lead a team of five other students, overseeing project schedule and tasks.

Redesign existing web site to create greater visual appeal and improve site navigation. Create several design concepts for later implementation.
